This version of Othello is just
like the board game. The goal is to cover the board with as many pieces
of your color as possible (you start with the black pieces). Once a
piece has been set down, it cannot be moved, but it can be flipped.
Whenever you put down a piece that "forms a sandwich" with another piece
of the same color, all the opposite colored
pieces in between are flipped. The computer (initially the white player)
flips the pieces in the same way. The goal is to have the most pieces
on the board when the board is entirely full.
Difficulty
You can select the difficulty from the drop down box on the right.
Even the beginner mode is quite difficult.
Options
In the bottom right corner of the game there is an options menu.
From the menu you can choose to see the available moves or see your
last move, which can be helpful when you are learning how to play. |
